The Madness Of The Mohawk

Just a quick blog with an announcement of Mohawk Madness!!!!

We officially launched the fundraiser on Wednesday the 1st of May and have already raised a whopping $685!!!

In 2011 The Brain Drain Project presented Mohawk Madness. It was just myself getting the chop to raise money for The Hydrocephalus & Spina Bifida Association of SA.

The idea being that with my hair shaved you could see my operation scars and it would get people asking questions to how I got them.

This year I am excited to announce that we have expanded and are now going WORLDWIDE!!! All up we have 9 confirmed participants with more hopefully on the way!

In order to make ourselves stand out just that little bit more, on top of getting our heads shaved we will also be getting our hair dyed Hydro Girl purple!! If that doesn’t get people’s attention I don’t know what will!

The goal amount together combining all individuals is sitting at an amazing $9,500 hoping to be raised. In comparison the first year of Mohawk Madness we raised an awesome almost $1700.

I just cannot begin to express the excitement that comes from all of this and I am so proud of everyone that is putting their hands up and hair on the line to raise money and awareness for hydrocephalus!!

I can't wait to see the end results for all of these mohawks. I shall keep you all posted on the progress of the fundraiser as it runs. Mohawk Madness will be running over the course of 6 months and we will be doing all of the cuts in Oct/Nov.
