The Adventures Of Hydro Girl and Me (Part 2)

Well, holy Moses brain drainers!!

It's been a whole 12 months since my last blog. I can't believe how fast time has flown.

So much has happened already in 2014 and there is still so many amazing things yet to come!

I'd first like to apologize for my long absence. The last 12 months have given me so many great things but it has also meant

a lot of changes in a small period of time. I've had to put a lot of projects on hold while I reorganize my life.

It has been no secret that over the last couple I have relocated from my small town of Millicent to the hustle and bstle of Melbourne.

I saw this as a great opportunity not only for our band Calling Utopia but for the Brain Drain Project as well. Being in a large city is an exciting

venture and I'm looking forward to spreading the wings of PBD and getting more awareness of hydrocephalus out there.

Something that has been kept a little more quite is that my brother aka co-writer and illustrator of The Adventures Of Hydro Girl

moved to Adelaide around the same time I moved to Melbourne. I am so proud of him and excited for his new adventure.

I think it's a great opportunity for him to get his novel and his artwork out there. This does mean however, that we will now

be creating issue #2 of the comic via correspondence. Going back and forth with the artwork and colour, meaning that it may take

us a bit longer than we originally wanted to get the next issue out. We do promise however that it will be worth the wait.

Issue 2 is twice as big as the first and the story line is more action packed. We can't wait to share Hydro Girl and the gangs next adventure with you all.

So, going back in time...

November saw the end of Mohawk Madness for 2013 and what an amazing success it was!!!

With 8 participants from all over the world we saw MHM raise around $8,500!! 7 thousand more than the first year I did it

in 2011. It was so great to see people come together and work as one for a common goal. Which is to finally find a cure

for hydrocephalus.

While Mohawk Madness was going on my brother and I were still hard at work putting our brains together.. excuse the pun.

Writing issue 2 of The Adventures Of Hydro Girl. Man did we have some fun with this issue. It was so great to see our characters

growing and evolving. I think the best part is while we were writing issue 2, we were getting ideas for issue 3 as well.

Just knowing where you want the story to go and how you want story lines to unfold is such a rush and I just can't stress enough

how excited John and myself are to share all of this with you all.

Over the past couple of days I have also turned The Adventures Of Hydro Girl Issue #1 in to a kind of movie. It is my goal that eventually

Hydro Girl will turn in to a full on cartoon as well as comic but for now, this movie is like a fast tracked version of the comic put to music.

I'm really excited to release it as I think it's totally rockin and fun and a great way to read the comic.

In other exciting news, maybe most exciting of all is that this year I'm headed to America!!! Along with my ever amazing sister. We are headed to the states

for a couple of months. In this time there is a Hydro Angels Over America conference and I have been fortunate enough

to be asked to join in on this conference. I am so honoured and blessed to be a part of such a great group of people

and can not wait to meet a whole new bunch of hydro friends.I will be promoting The Adventures Of Hydro Girl comic and even performing

some music!! This will be my first time playing music in America and I am jut so darned tooting excited!!

This year I also aim to be working closely with the Hydrocephalus Support Association. I know that they have some great things

in the works and I look forward to teaming up with them in hope that we can make a difference to those living with hydrocephalus and

their families.

Well brainiacs, I think that's about all for now. I promise it wont be so long between blogs next time. Until then,

stay happy, stay healthy and much hydro love to you all.

Peace.
