It's A Bird, No It's A Plane, No It's A Girl With Water On Her Brain! It's HYDRO GIR

Happy New Year everyone!!

What a insanely, busy couple of months it has been. This is just a quick update to let you know what’s going down at The Brain Drain Project at the moment.

First up so far we have raised an awesome$4,138 to go towards the Hydrocephalus Association and still counting!

The tins that have been spread all over Millicent, Mt Gambier and Beachport are doing really well not to mention we almost sold out of I Refuse To Lose t-shirts at MusiK Mayhem!! Project Brain Drain Tees are still available to purchase from this website.

The start of the year I have been focusing on our next big project. A comic book called Hydro Girl.

Hydro Girl of course has hydrocephalus and it somehow gave her superpowers. Now it is up to her and her friends to save the Brain Drain Universe from the villainous characters that will appear through-out the series.

We are in the early stages of development right now. When I say “we” my awesome brother has been kind enough to do all the comic drawing for me and the story itself is also written by the both of us. I have just started drawing up the good copy of our comic layout and will hopefully finish it this week. After that it will be back to John (My Bro) to draw up the comic. When finished it will be available from this website. We do have another couple of ideas up our sleeves but we want to keep them a surprise! ;-)

Hydro Girl now has an official facebook page so you can check up on the comics progress I will attach the link below.

I have another couple of fundraising ideas but none of them are confirmed yet so I will let you know when I have more information.

One fundraiser that is going on at the moment though is the Team Jack Weight Loss challenge.

Last year Hydrocephalus gave Jack a tough time. He had weekly bouts of vomiting and lethargy, 13 hospital admissions, 2 lots of intracranial pressure monitoring and four shunt related surgeries.

Jack's family have decided to run a fundraiser with the proceeds going to the Hydrocephalus Support Association to help us expand and improve our services.

The challenge

  • Set a healthy weight loss goal.

  • Lose weight.

  • Donate for each Kilo lost.

Well done to Jacks family for making a difference. I f you are interested in joining the fundraiser click on the link below.

So I think that’s about it for now. I will be sure to keep you all posted on any more up and coming events. I know Project Brain Drain still has lots of exciting things to come this year!

Until next time Brain Drainers,

Lots of Hydro Love!
