“She’s no ordinary girl, she has the power to save the world!”
What’s up Brain Drainers? I hope you are all doing well. I’m sorry it’s been so long between blogs. It’s been all go here at The Brain Drain Project so I thought I would just do a quick blog to update you all on the progress of the Hydro Girl comic.
It was announced in January that this would be The Brain Drain Projects major fundraiser of the year so my brother and I have been working tirelessly trying to get the comic out to you all as soon as possible. But as they say, “you can’t rush art. ” The layout for the comic has been completed and the drawing has begun. It’s looking really great. As of today we also started working on some colour concepts for the first couple of pages. Both John and I are so excited with the progress. Seeing some colour finally go in to the artwork has only fuelled our enthusiasm!
We announced the first villain of the series a couple of weeks after my last blog and although he was just a quick concept sketch he got a great response from our facebook Hydro Heroes.
Then this month we ran our first facebook competition. The aim of the competition was to get as many people to like the Hydro Girl page as you could in one week. Emily LeSueur was the clear winner gaining us lots more Heroes for our page. I sent her off a Project Brain Drain Tee and a Hydro Girl wristband. We will be running the competition again next month.
Also to support the Hydro Girl comic we now have awesome wristbands available for purchase from out Project Brain Drain Store. They’re only $4 and all the money goes to the Hydrocephalus Support Association.
Our total for money we have raised is still going up, we have now raised $4,344! There are still a fair few tins to be collected and wristbands are t-shirts are still selling well.
I think that’s about everything.
Until next time Brain Drainers. All my Hydro Love to you all! XX
